This motion design project focused on developing an engaging introduction for the Celtics Talk Podcast. My goal was to capture the attention of fans and spark their interest in the team beyond the court. I wanted the intro to be concise, dynamic, and memorable so it would set the tone for each episode while encouraging listeners to stay engaged.
To achieve this, I used Adobe After Effects for the motion graphics and Procreate for custom visual elements, combining both tools to create a bold and energetic intro aligned with the Celtics’ brand identity.
I was tasked with creating a short 2–5 second opening sequence that would effectively introduce the client’s brand. I needed to design an animation that was visually engaging while staying consistent with the Celtics’ established themes, color palette, and overall style. I focused on delivering high-quality graphics, smooth transitions, and polished motion design that felt dynamic yet concise, leaving a strong first impression without distracting from the podcast content.

I drew inspiration from the team’s logo by incorporating its colors and signature elements, such as the four-leaf clover, into the motion graphics. I also chose an athletic typeface that closely aligns with the style of their wordmark logo to maintain brand consistency.

I outlined my thought process for each step of the animation, paying particular attention to how transitions flowed seamlessly from one frame to the next. Because the intro was designed to be fast-paced, I layered multiple animations to keep the energy high and engaging.

Overall, I am very pleased with the final outcome and greatly enjoyed the creative process. One of the strongest concepts was bringing the leprechaun mascot to life through animation, featuring him spinning a basketball and winking at fans. This subtle, playful interaction adds personality while directly reinforcing the Boston Celtics’ brand identity.
